The Midnight Poutine Podcast - Feb. 20-25 2008

Posted by Jer / February 20, 2008

If you look at last week's podcast, you'll note that it's also podcast #63. We skipped #62. How embarrassing. That's just the kind of amateurity we allow around here, though. Also embarrassing is the fact that your humble and foolish host is away for two weeks but in my never-ending dedication I've tried to post a show anyway. So enjoy it, in my absence.

Since this week's show is light on the banter, I'll fill in some of the extra details here in writing.

Tonight, Wednesday, don't miss Molly Sweeney and her incredible voice at Casa Del Popolo (with White Flower)

Thursday's a busy night of quirk-rock, with Montreal's The Winks and Mixylodian sharing the stage at Le Divan Orange. Over at Le Cabaret Juste Pour Rire Super Furry Animals show off their latest album, Hey Venus, with Times New Viking opening. If neither of those choices satisfy you, go check out buzz-band We Are Wolves at le National and stop being so picky.

I almost canceled my trip so that I could stay and see The Most Serene Republic show at Club Lambi on Saturday (with The Diableros and Parlovr)

Sunday sees Ghetto Pony bring their machine rock chaos to Cafe Chaos (with Pom Pom War and Alex & Les Droogies opening)

And finally, Tuesday features a high profile album launch at Sala Ros(s)a. There's been plenty of hype around Plants and Animals new disc, so go find out if it's all worth it. Local singer/songwriter David MacLeod opens.

Enough blabbering, here's your Midnight Poutine Podcast:

Molly Sweeney - Florida
We Are Wolves - Fight & Kiss
The Winks - Slumber Party Let's Go
Super Furry Animals - Run Away
The Most Serene Republic - Sherry and Her Butterfly Net
Ghetto Pony - Kaboom

David MacLeod- One by One

Hello Jeremy,

if you were to organize something like this in Montreal, where would you do it?

Have a great weekend!

Awesome. Thanks for the link.

How about place des arts during jazz fest.
that, or get everyone in the bell center to do it during a habs game.
