In Their Own Words: Top Johnny

Posted by Jer / February 11, 2011

Top JohnnyIn their Own Words: the Montreal Sessions is a unique, in depth ten part band profile series. The musicians featured share their experiences, inspirations, and aspirations in pursuit of their artistic vision. The 5th instalment of volume 2 of the series features Top Johnny.

Breaking every cliché in the book, Top Johnny creates music for the heart, the mind and the loins. There is no musical confusion here. TJ Star and his band of marauding musical virtuosos are redefining Melodic Hard Rock. Paying their dues with electrifying live performance, the music of Top Johnny is winning fanatics on both sides of the border.

Top Johnny is guitar god TJ Star, Izzy Slater the prodigy prophet on second guitar and Karo, the barracuda on bass. Anchoring it all down on drums: Hitman, the buddha of the band who is most comfortable in sneakers.

In their own words: Top Johnny. Doing it their way. No apologies.

Aw, this was a very good post. Taking the time and actual
effort to produce a superb article… but what can I say… I put things off a lot
and never seem to get nearly anything done.

Hey Matt, Jules and I just received our cipoes of Vs.' Well done mate, looks excellent, and we're in good company in there, the quality of submissions is really high. It's an authentic fanzine, which is really exciting, and it's great to have contributions by Kieron and Jamie. Anyway, good luck on your US tour, and thanks again.
