The Midnight Poutine Podcast - Apr. 20 - 26, 2011

Posted by Jer / April 20, 2011

Erik Virtanen and Science Fiction While we think that every week's podcast is special, we also know that's just something we say to boost our ratings. This week, however, really is special. We've got an exclusive in-studio performance by Erik Virtanen, frontman for local indie-folkies the Darling Demaes, and his own solo-ish project, Science Fiction. Erik joins us to play some tunes off his upcoming debut album Wedding and to let us in on a few other bands around town we should be keeping our eyes and ears on.

This really was an "ultra-special" edition. Loved that you had Science Fiction commenting, and the live performances in the studio were great - hope you have more of those. Really nice eclectic choice of music on this podcast, running the gamut from folk to electronica. We made some nice discoveries, including Abigail Lapell and Trentemoeller. And we were happy and honored to have this be the second podcast we were played on. Looking forward to next week!

It's been a while since I actually lageuhd out loud because of a MR episode, but Phooneybaum's outburst towards the end did it for me. I just love it when he snaps. Well worth waiting two weeks.
